Job Description

Finger Publishing is seeking a Community Newspaper Editor to lead local news coverage and oversee the production of a community newspaper in the Berlin, Wisconsin area.
Responsibilities:
Write, edit, and proofread news stories and other content Design and layout newspaper pages Edit and prepare photos Coordinate coverage and assign stories to contributing writers Gather news, conduct interviews, and fact check information Maintain high journalistic standards and keep personal opinions out of reporting Meet strict publication deadlines Work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop Strong writing, editing, and communication skills Experience with newspaper layout and page design Strong news judgment and attention to detail Ability to plan, organize, and delegate assignments Commitment to community journalism and local news coverage Ability to work flexible and occasionally nontraditional hours
