Job Description

Editorial Assistant Include cover letter when applying. Reporting to the director of publication services, the editorial assistant processes accepted manuscripts for seven of the AEA's prestigious scholarly publications, including the AEA's flagship journal, the American Economic Review . This is an entry-level, on-site position. One day a week work-from-home is permitted at this time. Benefits include generous paid holidays and vacation/sick time, outstanding health insurance, and extraordinary retirement plan matching. This is an on-site position in Pittsburgh, PA. Only those currently residing in or moving to Pittsburgh should apply. Responsibilities Performs administrative tasks in the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission and tracking system. Coordinates with the data editor and tracks the data verification process. Verifies and formats reference lists for accepted papers. Maintains journal databases. Corresponds with authors to ensure timely receipt of required manuscript materials. Coordinates with the prepress department. Other duties as required. The mission of the AEA is to encourage economic research, publish on economic subjects, and encourage freedom of economic discussion. The spirit of these objectives has been maintained throughout the Association's existence over 130 years. Qualifications Bachelor's degree Strong attention to detail Excellent grammar and organizational skills Foreign language study, a plus Work Environment The AEA Publications office is located on Pittsburgh's South Side. It is a professional, relaxed, and collaborative atmosphere.
