Job Description
Radiologist Service Assistant (RSA) Key Responsibilities Serve as the central communication hub, managing incoming calls and coordinating requests while minimizing interruptions to radiologist workflow Facilitate seamless collaboration between radiologists, physician assistants, technologists, and referring providers Monitor radiology worklists to ensure timely interpretation and completeness of imaging studies Verify that all exams include the necessary images, documentation, and patient history for accurate readings Track and manage preliminary reports, ensuring timely finalization and proper workflow updates Communicate critical and urgent findings to ordering providers, with accurate documentation Provide imaging results to referring physicians upon request Care Coordination & Workflow Support Coordinate after-hours imaging requests, including MRI and Nuclear Medicine approvals Support urgent and interventional procedures by activating care teams (e.g., Angio, Surgery, Ultrasound) Assist in organizing and maintaining on-call schedules and documentation Ensure smooth handoffs between shifts by clearly communicating outstanding tasks Technical & Systems Support Collaborate with PACS and IT teams to resolve imaging, system, and network issues Ensure completed exams are properly routed through systems and available on worklists Manage addendum and comparison requests, including retrieving and routing appropriate studies Coordinate specialized workflows such as cardiac over-reads and MIM image transfers Quality & Compliance Identify and resolve exam discrepancies, including missing images, documentation, or technical issues Follow up with ordering providers to obtain required information for accurate interpretation Maintain thorough and accurate documentation across all workflows and communications Medical Assistant or equivalent medical background is preferred but not required. This position is part of a team that is scheduled 24/7. We offer both full-time and part-time Day, Night, Swing and weekend shifts. In the questions attached, please select your preference for shifts. While remote work is available, we do prefer candidates located in Utah as training will be conducted locally.
