Job Description
About the Role Hybrid with Travel in New York, New York or Washington DC Portfolio Required We're looking for a fast, resourceful, and editorially sharp Social Content Editor to support social media content for a high level leader. This role is all about speed, polish, and storytelling — turning raw footage into compelling, platform-native content across major social platforms. You'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, high-trust environment. You should be just as comfortable editing a sizzle reel on your phone between meetings as you are crafting a polished edit at your desk. Minimal producer support means you need to be self-sufficient, proactive, and adaptable. This role skews heavily toward post-production and editorial craft, though baseline capture skills are expected. The content playbook will evolve as the executive's social presence matures — you should be energized by that ambiguity, not daunted by it. What You'll Do + Edit short-form social content including sizzle reels, talking heads, interviews, and event recaps + Operate as a near-independent content creator — shooting and editing primarily on mobile with minimal production support + Adapt content for multiple social platforms with an understanding of what performs best on each + Create light motion graphics, text overlays, and visual treatments to elevate content + Design and produce simple graphic content (quote cards, branded templates, visual assets) + Maintain fast turnaround without sacrificing quality or editorial judgment + Collaborate directly with executives and stakeholders with professionalism and discretion + Evolve the content playbook over time as the executive's channel and audience grow What You Bring + 5-7 years of experience in social content editing, with a strong portfolio of fast-turnaround, polished short-form work + Expert-level proficiency in mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, InShot, Adobe Rush, or similar) and desktop software (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) + Ability to capture usable footage on a smartphone when needed + Experience supporting executive communications, political communications, or public affairs content + Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with leaders + Sharp editorial eye for pacing, storytelling, tone, and platform-native style + Familiarity with basic graphic design and motion graphics; animation is a plus + Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage your own workflow + Neutral, professional tone across all content Nice to Have + Experience in political media, influencer content, or public-figure social strategy + Experience with animation or advanced motion graphics + Knowledge of major social platforms and content best practices Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Washington
