  • (FAST Grant Funded) Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Dept of Mass Communication Division Division of Academic Affairs Hours per week 20 Hiring Rate $12 Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position Student workers for a grant-funded project will create promotional videos for the Film Production Track and the PR and Advertising Track.
Requires working within a team doing hands-on experience in video production, research, data analysis, and presentation, all while working closely with faculty members and contributing to a high-impact project.
Responsibilities:
Research:
Conduct thorough research on the Film Production and PR/Advertising tracks, gathering relevant information and data to inform the video content.
Data Analysis:
Analyze collected data to identify key highlights, trends, and unique aspects of each track that will be featured in the promotional videos.
Production Work:
Assist in the production process, including scripting, storyboarding, filming, and editing the promotional videos. Ensure that all content aligns with the department's branding and messaging.
Presentation:
Present research findings and video drafts to faculty and project team members for feedback and approval.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with faculty members, project coordinators, and other student workers to ensure the project's success.
Project Management:
Maintain organized records of research, data, and production materials. Meet project deadlines and milestones as outlined by the project team. Other Requirements for the
Position Qualifications:
Current enrollment as a student at Sam Houston State University. Strong interest in film production, public relations, advertising, and/or mass communications. Experience with video production tools and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.) is preferred but not required. Excellent research and analytical skills. Strong communication and presentation abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
