Beacon Hill was founded to set a new standard in search, career placement and flexible staffing. Our client, a nonprofit association is seeking a Part-time Editorial Assistant to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis in Alexandria, Virginia.About The Job:
Support the day-to-day operations of a peer-reviewed medical journal, including manuscript submissions, peer review, and editorial workflows Process and review manuscript submissions, revisions, and required documentation through the journal's manuscript management system Communicate with authors, reviewers, editors, and publishing staff regarding submissions, deadlines, and peer-review activities Maintain editorial records, conflict-of-interest documentation, reviewer CME records, and correspondence Provide administrative, scheduling, and reporting support to the editorial leadership team Assist with workflow management, process improvements, and special publication-related projectsAbout You:
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow detailed procedures Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Interest in publishing, editing, scholarly journals, or academic communications Experience in publishing, higher education, journal operations, or professional associations preferred Familiarity with peer review, manuscript-management systems, CME administration, or medical/scientific terminology is a plusAbout The Position:
