Job Description

Job Summary:
The Editor II assists with editing, revising, and producing a broad range of professional documents, including military doctrine, manuals, proposals, and other publications. This role ensures all materials meet established standards for clarity, accuracy, formatting, and compliance with applicable military regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Uses word processing and text management systems to edit and prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations. Edits publications according to specifications for style, tone, length, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ensures all documents comply with applicable standards, including TR 25-30 and
TR 25-36.
Assists writers with selecting and finalizing artwork, photography, and text for publication. Reviews and validates content for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to customer requirements. Ensures publications meet formatting, style, and overall quality standards. Examines proofs of documents and coordinates corrections as needed. Confirms that all deliverables meet customer specifications and deadlines. Maintains current knowledge of trends and best practices in editing, publishing, and military documentation. Supports operational contract support (OCS) activities as applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Pro. Experience with text management and desktop publishing software. Ability to edit and format technical and doctrinal publications. Familiarity with military writing standards and formatting requirements.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of six (6) years of experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Pro. Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing and editing military doctrine and/or specialized technical publications. Demonstrated experience creating, editing, and proofreading documents in accordance with TR 25-30 and
TR 25-36.
Experience in operational contract support (OCS) is desired.
Security Requirement:
Will require an active SECRET clearance, will sponsor a candidate if needed.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
