About the Role We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about fashion and streetwear, possesses excellent communication skills, and can effectively manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. This individual is self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a creative and dynamic team. A strong eye for detail, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role. Objectives of the Role Assist the Product Development team throughout the development process from concept to production Research current and emerging fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes (Streetwear focused) Prepare and update technical packs (Tech Packs) Create and revise technical callouts and construction notes Measure garments accurately and efficiently during fittings and sample reviews Compare garment measurements against specification sheets and identify discrepancies Organize and maintain product development files, spec sheets, and sample records Assist with fit sessions by taking notes and documenting revisions Communicate sample revisions with overseas factories Maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries Help track development timelines and production calendars Assist with sourcing fabrics, trims, and garment components Support quality control by reviewing samples for construction and measurement accuracy Update spreadsheets, costing sheets, and development trackers Required Skills & Qualifications We're looking for someone who already has experience or knowledge in the following areas: Trend Forecasting Research upcoming fashion trends Identify new silhouettes, colors, fabrics, and market opportunities Analyze competitor brands and current streetwear trends Tech Pack Callouts Understand garment construction terminology Create and update technical callouts Read and interpret tech packs Communicate revisions clearly to manufacturers Garment Measurement Measure garments accurately and consistently Understand Points of Measure (POMs) Compare samples against specification sheets Identify measurement discrepancies Basic Fabric Knowledge Understanding of common apparel fabrics including:
Cotton French Terry Fleece Jersey Denim Twill Nylon Polyester Spandex/Elastane Knowledge of:
Fabric weight (GSM/Ounces) Fabric finishes Basic garment construction Excel / Google Sheets Must be comfortable with: Data entry Formulas Organization Product tracking Spec sheets Sample tracking Preferred Qualifications Fashion Design, Product Development, or Apparel Merchandising degree (or equivalent experience) Experience creating technical flats Knowledge of apparel construction Experience measuring garments Experience working with overseas manufacturers Understanding of streetwear and contemporary fashion Our Culture At Shaka Wear, we move fast, think big, and take pride in what we build.
