Job Description

Bring your creative vision to a fast-paced retail design team as an Assistant Designer supporting women's TSD. This onsite contract opportunity in California offers the chance to help shape seasonal product direction through trend research, sketch development, tech pack creation, and close collaboration across the design process. Responsibilities Research global markets to identify emerging trends, silhouettes, fabrics, yarns, techniques, and competitive inspiration. Support the development of seasonal concepts, sketches, and product ideas. Create and update tech packs, CADs, and design packages based on project priorities. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to help ensure fit, quality, and design intent are executed effectively. Juggle multiple seasons and deadlines in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment. Apply an elevated eye for style, color, and aesthetics to help translate trends for the target customer. Use structured assignments to revise sketches and complete design documentation as needed. Skills Experience or strong foundational knowledge in fashion or apparel design. Working knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color, sewing techniques, and trims. Ability to apply garment construction knowledge within the design process. Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Clear communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow priorities and deadlines. Preferred Skills Experience working in a fast-paced retail or fashion environment. Portfolio or examples that demonstrate sketching, CAD work, and design development. Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and seasonal timelines. Comfort working onsite and partnering closely with cross-functional teams.
