Description:
An iconic American apparel brand is looking for an Associate Designer to join the Women's Woven Tops team. In this role, you will research global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, and product categories. You will assist in developing concepts and sketches for the seasonal product line and advocate for design ideas by presenting to internal leadership and cross-functional partners. You will partner with Production to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit and product design, ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved. You will attend fit sessions, make revisions to sketches and design packages, manage administration of the product design process, and juggle multiple seasons while tracking development deadlines. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiency Trend research and concept development for women's apparel Tech pack creation and fit session participation Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, silhouettes, and sewing techniques Cross-functional collaboration (Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing) Strong sense of style, aesthetic, and color Organizational and time-management skills with ability to juggle multiple seasons Requirements for the role: Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of garment construction methods, silhouettes, fit, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, and trim Ability to research global markets and identify seasonal trends Experience developing concepts and sketches for seasonal product lines Ability to partner with Production to create tech packs Experience attending fit sessions and making revisions to sketch and design packages Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing Ability to manage administration and follow-up of product design process Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment Ability to juggle multiple seasons at one time and track development deadlines Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color Ability to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filter Recognize and act on inconsistencies in data or results Portfolio required
Education and Experience:
