Le Fashion Lab is a Nationally Accredited Fashion Design Technical School located in Atlanta, GA. We focus on real-world fashion education—bridging the gap between creativity and industry execution. Our instructors are not only designers, but mentors who are passionate about helping students turn ideas into viable careers and brands. We pride ourselves in providing the very best fashion design education for emerging fashion designers with a passion to pursue a professional fashion design career or build their own brands. Our 1
  • and 2-yr Design & Garment Construction Programs equip students with the skills to pursue careers/employment in fashion/apparel/costume design or develop and launch their fashion brands at one-third the investment of a 4-yr college.
We've been open since 2009 and continue to grow. Job Description This is a part-time adjunct/contract position with variable hours based on enrollment and scheduling needs. We are seeking a professional, experienced Adjunct Fashion Illustration and Portfolio Development Instructor to teach our:
  • Intro to Fashion & Sketching,
  • Beginning through Advanced Fashion Illustration,
  • Intro to Textiles and
  • Computer Aided Design (Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop) classes. This instructor will help students build strong 2D portfolios that will increase their employability and fashion business acumen. While we will provide training in our specific methodology, Instructor is expected to be a Fashion Portfolio expert with 1
  • 3 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fashion industry Experience preparing students for portfolios, internships, or employment Familiarity with current industry standards and workflows Skills should include: ideation from concept to sketches, fashion sketching and illustration by hand and computer, color stories/palettes, fabric selection, creating flats both by hand and computer, textiles/fabrics; specs and tech packs; and advanced fashion design skills using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. We require an associates/bachelor's degree, preferably in Fashion Design. However, an associates/bachelor's degree in another field is sufficient with a portfolio and work experience to show the required apparel knowledge/skills. Instructor will be provided with a pre-set syllabus/lesson plans and in-depth training. The schedule varies as we currently offer three program options:
  • Weekdays (M-Th), 9:30 am
  • 4 pm;
  • Evenings (M-Th), 6
  • 9 pm;
  • and Saturdays, 9:30 am
  • 4 pm. Currently our greatest need is to fill our Mon
  • Thurs daytime classes (9:30 am
  • 12:30 pm or 9:30 am
  • 4pm, depending on the candidate's availability). Approximate Daytime hours only are about 2.5
  • 5 hours weekly; or 15
  • 20 hours per month, with wide variations based on scheduling needs.
Teaching/Instructional Ability Ability to break down complex design concepts for beginner and intermediate students Strong classroom presence, organization, and communication skills Experience teaching, mentoring, or leading workshops preferred (not required) Instructor Outcomes & Expectations Guide students in producing industry-ready fashion portfolios Prepare students for employment, internships, or brand launch Ensure portfolios demonstrate both creative and technical proficiency Provide structured feedback and portfolio reviews throughout the course

    Compensation ranges from $30
  • 40/hour depending on experience. Ideal start date for training is immediate; with classes starting in September.
