Job Description

MUST BE LOCATED IN BALTIMORE, MD AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SCHOOL-AGE YOUTH. A
Sewing & Fashion Design instructor needed to teach students ranging from K-8th during the 2025-2026 School Year. Sewing & Fashion Design, open to various Sewing & Fashion Design techniques. This position is for in-person instruction. Pay ranges from $50.00-$55.00 Classes are 1 or 2 hours per session. Also, may have multiple contracts at multiple sites. Looking forward to interviewing candidates in the next few days.

Varies Monday-Thursday Times:
Varies Between 1:00pm - 4:00pm Sewing & Fashion Design teacher needed to teach the basics of sewing and fashion design. A material budget will be given and 2+ sewing machines available depending on students' ability. CDS is searching for a motivated and enthusiastic sewing instructor to offer a rewarding opportunity and culture of learning for our students to grow their skills and develop their craft. We are looking for candidates interested in the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners this school year! Every day is spent in an energy focused on positive outcomes. Major Responsibilities Develop and implement an arts program that enables youth to develop their creativity. Contribute to effectively planning programs, services, and activities. Instruct, coach and direct varied activities. Implement goals objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for assigned programs. Exercise independent, judgment and initiative within general policy guidelines. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Contributes to programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success. Contributes to creating a team environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. Contribute to ensuring a healthy and safe environment. Contributes to ensuring that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
High School diploma Ability to obtain a clear background check within the agency's timeline. A minimum of one year experience working with creative and visual art programs. Use of equipment and tools related to work. Principles related to the development of youth. Group leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics. • Experience with various forms of sewing (hand / machine / embroidery, etc.)
