Job Description
- Only qualified Technical Designer with experience in Women's Casual sleepwear candidates located near Manhattan, NY to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience
Required Skills:
- 5-10 years' experience in technical design (Sr. Tech experience is great, but do not want someone who has already managed a team- feel they may be overqualified for this role)
- Must have strong pattern making background/ experience with knits and wovens
- PLM experience or training (Centric preferred)
- Must be a fast and efficient worker.
- Must have experience participating and/or owned their own fittings.
- Must have experience writing up fit comments & pattern corrections.
- Proficiency with Excel/illustrator/Flex PLM etc.
Role:
Our client is the world's largest intimates' specialty retailer offering a wide assortment of modern, fashion-inspired collections, including signature bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim, and athleisure, as well as award-winning prestige fragrances and body care. Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit. Average work hours will be 32 hours per week.Responsibilities:
- Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit
- Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications
- Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications
- Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections
- Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure the integrity of design-approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price
- Typically reports to Technical Services Manager. Typically directs Assistant or Associate Technical Designers#V1
