FREELANCE Overview Join a global consumer products organization in the athletic apparel and footwear industry as a Color Designer supporting an outdoor-inspired footwear and apparel design team. This freelance assignment is ideal for a strategic, story-driven designer who can create compelling color palettes and apply them across performance and lifestyle collections. Assignment Details

What You'll Do
Develop strategic color concepts, palettes, and applications for apparel collections.
Create cohesive color stories aligned with product, consumer, and seasonal direction.
Build and present mood boards, color narratives, and design concepts to cross-functional partners.
Translate consumer, marketplace, and trend insights into relevant color direction.
Collaborate closely with a fast-paced, cross-functional design team.
Support apparel projects spanning fashion-forward and utility-driven performance needs.
Required Qualifications
Five or more years of color design experience with a focus on apparel.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Strong strategic color design capabilities, including palette development and color application.
Excellent visual storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
A portfolio demonstrating color storytelling, mood boards, and a range of design experiences.
Ability to succeed in an agile, highly collaborative environment.
Strong understanding of current consumer preferences, market trends, and the broader apparel landscape.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in outdoor, streetwear, and/or performance apparel.
A design perspective that balances fashion expression with functional utility.
Experience supporting large-scale consumer product or athletic apparel brands.
