Job Description
Role Summary Free People is seek an Associate Concept Designer to join our team! The Associate Concept Designer's responsibility is to identify and communicate seasonal trend direction to inspire the Free People Design Team by researching current fashion trends as they apply to the Free People customer across multiple categories and generating visual content while providing the assistance needed to communicate those trends through the creation of trend presentations and publications. Role Responsibilities Contribute a unique creative perspective on current fashion trends. Research trend direction in the areas of Color, Print, Graphics, Embellishment, Wash, Fabric, Silhouette, Shoes, and Design Details as they relate to the Free People customer. Compile visual content and build strong trend guides that visually document and communicate seasonal trends to Design team and cross functional partners in trend categories of ownership. Maintain effective communication with design teams regarding trend presentation dates, concept packet publication and sample distribution. Attend MSR's for both Wholesale & Retail as well as Sales meetings to keep up with current selling info, buying needs and to help in identifying categories that need trend support. Recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends and understand how they relate to the Free People customer. Respond to business objectives with creativity and innovative approaches. Role Qualifications Degree in Fashion Apparel Design or related field and 4+ Years Design Experience preferred. Strong understanding of the Free People and FP Movement Customer. Ability to use Adobe InDesign to create presentations. Design Portfolio that demonstrates trend awareness, skill in visual storytelling and strong ability in articulating ideas clearly.
