The Role As we open our brand-new Los Gatos boutique, we are seeking a Lead Florist / Designer to serve as our floral expert and creative leader. This is a pivotal role that holds full ownership of floral quality, daily production, and flower inventory management. Beyond your artistry, you will be instrumental in building our local team—leading the hiring, training, and development of our designers to ensure we deliver an exceptional client experience from day one. Key Responsibilities Floral Design & Quality Leadership Serve as the boutique's top floral expert, overseeing flower buying, inventory accuracy, and waste tracking. Design and produce arrangements that meet French Florist's high standards for style, quality, and consistency. Ensure all designs align with brand photography and client expectations. Provide daily creative direction, balancing artistic beauty with operational efficiency. Team Building & Management Lead the hiring, training, and ongoing development of the Los Gatos design team. Assign orders and oversee daily production to ensure accuracy and on-time completion. Conduct coaching conversations and performance documentation to maintain high standards and a positive culture. Lead by example with a hands-on, supportive approach, especially during peak floral seasons. Operations & Collaboration Partner with Boutique Managers to forecast floral needs based on sales trends and seasonality. Manage inventory for all designer supplies, florals, and supporting materials. Collaborate with Dispatch and CSR teams to resolve delivery timing or product issues proactively. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually stunning design station and cooler display.

Qualifications Experience :

Proven floral design experience with advanced product knowledge, including events, funerals, and weddings.

Leadership :

Previous experience in a floral leadership or supervisory role is required.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of floral purchasing, inventory management, and waste control.

Soft Skills :

Excellent communication, organization, and a professional, team-oriented demeanor.

Availability:

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak floral seasons. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Must be able to lift and move supplies up to 40 lbs.
