Job Description

This role is responsible for operations of a floral shop located in San Jose. This role includes creating high-quality floral arrangements, providing exceptional customer service, processing customer orders, and supporting the daily operations of a local floral shop. This position combines operations and customer-facing responsibilities with floral design to ensure a positive experience for every customer and the timely fulfillment of all floral orders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Shop Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales and design area. Assist with receiving floral shipments and inspecting products for quality. Support inventory management, including floral supplies, containers, ribbons, and related materials. Participate in daily opening and closing procedures. Assist with merchandising and promotional displays throughout the shop. Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations. Floral Design & Production Design and create fresh floral arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, sympathy pieces, wedding florals, and custom floral designs based on customer requests and company standards. Select, prepare, condition, and maintain fresh flowers and greenery to maximize quality and longevity. Ensure all floral products meet established design and presentation standards. Create seasonal and holiday floral displays to promote sales and enhance the customer experience. Monitor floral inventory and communicate supply needs to management. Customer Service & Order Management Greet and assist walk-in customers in a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable manner. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries regarding floral products, pricing, delivery options, and special orders. Consult with customers to recommend appropriate floral arrangements for various occasions. Accurately process customer orders, including payment collection, delivery details, card messages, and special requests. Resolve customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Order Fulfillment & Delivery Coordination Prepare completed arrangements for pickup and delivery. Verify the accuracy of all orders before they leave the shop. Coordinate with delivery drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Communicate order updates or delivery issues to customers as needed. Qualifications Previous floral design experience preferred; professional florist experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of flower varieties, floral care, and design techniques. Strong customer service, sales, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic computer systems and point-of-sale software. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
