Job Description
Flower Shop Assistant Lory Flowers is a premium flower shop in Naples, FL. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Flower Shop Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position to start, approximately 25-35 hours per week during the September-May season. For the right person, this position may grow into a full-time role. We are open year-round, including the summer months. However, summer is our slower season, so hours during the summer may vary depending on business needs and order volume. Floral experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person in floral design and daily flower shop operations. This is a hands-on position and is a good fit for someone who is responsible, organized, careful with details, and comfortable with physical work. We are looking for someone with a friendly attitude, good customer service skills, and a genuine interest in flowers, design, and working with people. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn floral design, grow their skills, and be part of a small creative team that helps customers celebrate important moments through beautiful flowers. Responsibilities Assist the floral designer with daily orders and flower preparation Clean, process, and organize fresh flowers Prepare vases, boxes, ribbons, cards, tools, and supplies Help with bouquets, vase arrangements, flower boxes, sympathy arrangements, and event orders Pack and prepare flower arrangements for delivery Make local flower deliveries when needed Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace, flower cooler, and supply area Lift and carry vases, baskets, buckets, and supplies up to 22 lbs / 10 kg Follow Lory Flowers quality standards and instructions carefully Help maintain a professional and welcoming flower shop environment Requirements Floral experience is preferred but not required Training in floral design will be provided for the right candidate Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented Must be friendly and comfortable interacting with customers when needed Must be comfortable standing for several hours and doing physical work Must be able to lift and carry up to 22 lbs / 10 kg Must have a valid driver's license Must be comfortable making local deliveries English is required Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Strong availability during September-May is required Availability during holidays, weekends, and busy flower shop periods is a plus Schedule Part-time position to start, approximately 25-40 hours per week during the September-May season. Additional hours may be available during holidays, events, and peak periods. We are open year-round, including the summer months. However, summer is our slower season, so hours during the summer may vary depending on business needs and order volume. For the right person, this position may grow into a full-time role. Pay Training pay is $15 per hour. After the initial training period, starting pay is $18 per hour, with the opportunity for growth based on performance, reliability, and skill development.
