Job Description

Seeking an experienced, creative floral designer to join our team! We are a full-service florist located in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to floral arrangements, cut flowers, and wedding/event floral design, our shop is full of unique plants and giftware for every occasion. Responsibilities Ensuring that flowers are properly cared for to ensure a lasting vase life. Checking each arrangement for quality before it leaves the shop. Selecting and arranging flowers and decorative items to create standard and customized floral arrangements. Serving in-store customers and processing payments. Maintaining an accurate record of floral arrangement orders, special requests, and delivery information. Advising customers on the proper care and maintenance of their selected floral arrangements. Advising customers on gifting. Consulting with clients to determine their preferences and specifications before designing customized floral arrangements. Ensuring proper packing for deliveries. Occasional flower deliveries. Running errands as needed. Complete special projects/tasks delegated by the owner. Keep the shop clean and organized. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Floral design experience. have a minimum of 6 months experience as a professional floral designer at a retail flower shop within the past 5 years. Sound knowledge of different flower types, arrangement styles, and flower conditioning. Willing to work Holidays and weekends. Willing to work early morning hours on the day of events. Willing to work off-site for weddings and events. Excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Artistic and creative. Detail-oriented. •
