The Designer is responsible for accurately fulfilling floral orders while maintaining established labor cost guidelines. The Designer has a strong foundation in floral design principles, color theory, and flower care. The Designer is responsible for creating visually stunning and innovative arrangements that reflect Eastern Floral's quality standards and exceed customer expectations, both for standard designs and custom orders. Key responsibilities include maintaining the freshness and quality of floral products, managing floral inventory, and supporting daily operations to achieve production goals. The Designer thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and brings a passion for creativity to every arrangement. Key Job Functions
Design floral arrangements that creatively and effectively utilize color, floral materials, containers, and accent elements, while adhering to established design styles and cost guidelines
Gain and apply a solid understanding of Eastern Floral's core flower varieties and design styles to accurately produce arrangements in line with company standards
Practice proper floral handling techniques to ensure product longevity and quality
Monitor and maintain floral inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked and flowers remain fresh and high-quality
Consistently meet production benchmarks and quality standards
Accurately interpret and fulfill client requests for custom floral designs
Complete other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations Experience and Qualifications Requirements
High School Diploma required
2+ years of floral design or in-shop experience
Proven experience as a floral designer
Proficiency in floral design techniques and knowledge of different types of flowers and foliage
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter who is highly creative, innovative and can work unsupervised for extended periods of time
Maintain a positive, upbeat attitude while interacting with others
Supportive team player, assist with creating an atmosphere to ensure operational success Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to walk, talk, manipulate hands and fingers, reach, lift, bend, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch as necessary
Ability to operate power tools and motor vehicles safely
Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
Valid Driver's License and insurable under company insurance plan
Flexibility and willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
