Job Description

Pachamama Floral Design is a boutique florist in Petoskey devoted to sustainable floral design, creating intentional blooms that honor life, love, and the beauty of the natural world. We are seeking a creative, dependable Floral Designer & Studio Associate who shares our passion for flowers, artistry, and environmentally conscious practices. In this role, you'll create thoughtful floral arrangements for weddings, celebrations, sympathy tributes, and everyday occasions while providing exceptional customer service in our retail space. You'll work with seasonal flowers, assist with daily studio operations, and help bring our nature-inspired designs to life. This is an opportunity to grow your floral design skills while working in a creative, collaborative environment that values craftsmanship, sustainability, and meaningful connections. Responsibilities Design and create beautiful floral arrangements that reflect Pachamama Floral Design's natural, intentional style. Prepare flowers through proper processing and conditioning to ensure freshness and longevity. Assist customers with floral selections, custom orders, and gift purchases while providing warm, personalized service. Maintain an inviting studio by organizing displays, caring for plants and flowers, and keeping workspaces clean and organized. Support wedding and event preparation, including designing, processing, packaging, delivery, setup, and breakdown as needed. Receive, organize, and manage floral inventory and supplies. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately. Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of design, quality, and sustainability in every aspect of our work. Help minimize waste through thoughtful floral practices and eco-conscious studio operations. Qualifications Previous floral design experience is preferred, but we welcome applicants with a strong artistic background and a willingness to learn. Passion for sustainable floristry, nature, and seasonal flowers. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail with an eye for color, texture, and composition. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional quality. Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting buckets, boxes, and floral supplies up to 40 pounds. Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays during busy floral seasons and events. Valid driver's license is a plus for deliveries and event installations.
