Job Overview We are seeking a high--energy, creative Floral Designer to bring beauty and artistry to our floral department. In this vibrant role, you will craft stunning floral arrangements, bouquets, and centerpieces that delight our customers and elevate their special moments. Your keen eye for design, horticultural knowledge, and customer service skills will help create memorable experiences. This position has room to grow into a Full-Time position. Duties Floral Design for
Events:
Conceptualize, create, and execute custom floral arrangements for weddings, corporate functions, and private parties. Items range from personal florals (bouquets, boutonnieres) to large-scale table centerpieces and complex structural installations.
Sourcing & Inventory Management:
Select and order high-quality flowers, plants, and hard goods from suppliers. Manage studio inventory, build precision floral "recipes," draft quotes for new leads, and ensure adequate supply chain preparation for upcoming projects.
Client Consultation & Collaboration:
Meet with clients along with our Sales Team to understand their vision, aesthetic preferences, and budget constraints. Offer creative recommendations and design options (Training will be provided for the right candidate if client consultation experience is limited).
On-Site Setup & Installation:
Oversee transportation and load-in at event venues. Direct and assist with physical setup and installation to ensure designs remain fresh, structurally sound, secure, and visually pristine throughout the event.
Team Collaboration & Innovation:
Work cohesively with event coordinators, fellow designers, and venue staff to achieve flawless execution. Stay informed on current floral trends, seasonal varieties, and emerging techniques to maintain the studio's reputation for innovation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; design-related background/education is highly preferred.
Experience:
1+ year of proven experience in event floral design and 1+ year of demonstrated leadership skills.
Portfolio:
A project-specific design portfolio showcasing your artistic range is required upon application.
Aesthetic Eye:
A strong artistic sense for color theory, balance, texture, and composition, with specific experience or interest in a "whimsical" design aesthetic.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of flower varieties, processing, advanced care, and handling techniques.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
Language:
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Physical & Working Conditions:
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for 8 hours or more during event days.
Lifting:
Ability to lift and move 25+ lbs consistently with or without assistive devices.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to event properties, vendors, and related locations (Reliable and dependable transportation required).
Stress Management:
Ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently, and remain calm and organized under pressure and tight deadlines.
