A Floral Designer works with flowers and greens to create displays and arrangements. Creates single arrangements or displays for larger events such as weddings, funerals or banquets; creates and maintains flower displays in hotels or offices. May grow flowers or order from wholesale suppliers.
Our current Cooler Manager is moving into a new role, which means we're excited to open this position to a new team member! This position does not include floral design responsibilities and is not intended as a pathway into a floral design position. We're looking for someone who is excited about the operational side of the floral industry and understands that outstanding floral design is only possible because of outstanding preparation, organization, and execution.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the proper receiving, care, handling, and allocation of all fresh flowers—upholding the high standards essential to maintaining our luxury brand. RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive, inspect, and unpack fresh flower shipments. Manage a team of processing assistants by setting a pace, priorities, and process. Printing order emails for upcoming orders. Checking in fresh flowers and supplies, reconciling emailed order requests and invoices, noting quality, quantity, and color issues on the Issues Document. Communicate with floral buyer and design manager any issues for resolution with our wholesalers/suppliers. Cutting, cleaning and hydrating fresh flowers. Placing them in proper size vases and buckets, following the Helen Olivia care and handling procedures. Label event flowers and shop flowers and store in proper areas in the cooler. Maintaining walk-in cooler on a daily basis; rotating stock, discarding old product, refreshing water and recutting stems as needed. Maintain the reach in coolers on the design floor. Monitoring inventory levels of supplies, vessels, foliages. Maintaining a clean and tidy work space. Keeping sink area clean and debris free. Properly sanitizing and storing buckets and vases. Check in daily with design manager for processing priority. Preparing event carts. Assisting with buying of fresh product for the studio. Supporting the design team with help as necessary, removing empty buckets and sweeping as time permits.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
At least 3 years working full time in the floral industry, or in a manager role. Ability to take direction and work independently. Deep knowledge of flowers, foliage, and seasonal availability. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities. Familiarity with floral design and appreciation for high-end aesthetics. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Fluent in English. Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, email. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Comfortable climbing ladders. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
