Position Overview The Senior Floral Designer is an experienced design professional responsible for creating exceptional floral work while helping maintain the artistic standards of the Helen Olivia brand. This individual is expected to confidently execute everything from daily retail arrangements to large-scale luxury event installations while serving as a resource and mentor for more junior designers. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of floral mechanics, refined design instincts, outstanding technical execution, and the ability to consistently create work that reflects the Helen Olivia house style. This position is for someone who enjoys mastering an established luxury aesthetic while helping elevate the work of the entire design team. Our senior designers set the standard for the rest of the studio. They lead by example, approach every project with professionalism, and understand that beautiful work comes from strong processes—not shortcuts. Responsibilities Design premium floral arrangements for luxury retail, sympathy, corporate, wedding, and event clients. Consistently execute the Helen Olivia house style across all design work. Design according to established studio recipes, pricing, and production standards. Execute advanced floral mechanics for large-scale installations, suspended installations, ceremony flowers, arches, centerpieces, and custom event décor. Participate in on-site event installations and event strikes. Create floral recipes and production samples for complex event work. Produce design samples and visual examples to guide junior designers during production. Coach, mentor, and support junior designers while helping maintain consistent quality throughout the studio. Assist with quality control by ensuring arrangements meet Helen Olivia's design standards before leaving the studio. Assist with flower processing, inventory management, and maintaining proper flower care. Help with answering phone calls and walk-in customers. Maintain professionalism and discretion with high-end clientele. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient design workspace, cooler, and studio. Work collaboratively with the design, sales, and operations teams to execute projects successfully. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional floral design experience in the luxury floral market. Strong portfolio demonstrating elevated floral design skills across weddings, luxury events, corporate work, and daily floral. Thorough knowledge of floral mechanics and experience executing a wide variety of floral design styles and installation techniques. Ability to quickly understand, embrace, and consistently execute the Helen Olivia house style. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Ability to converse with an upscale clientele. Strong organizational and time management skills. Computer proficiency (email, word, google drive) Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work both in a team setting and individually. Ability to work some nights and weekends for major events and holidays. Ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.
