ABOUT THE ROLE
La Terre is hiring a Flower Design and Production Specialist to assist the shop's Lead Designer and Production Manager and the operations of the shop. This role is a mix of artistry and logistics: processing flowers, designing, managing product, and keeping the production floor moving with efficiency and purpose. This role will also be fully cross-trained on the Front of House duties and serve as a back-up when needed. We're a fast-paced, high-volume shop that's growing year after year. Some days, 50 boxes of flowers show up before lunch, and the right person sees that and feels energized. You need to love the process, the mess, the rhythm, the problem-solving, and the long days. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You'll be supporting creation of designs, planning ahead, checking orders, communicating with wholesalers, working with front-of-house, and operating as a key role on this team. You'll also spend time on administrative work managing emails, placing orders, reviewing systems, and keeping everything organized behind the scenes. In true flower shop fashion, all staff are expected to be cross trained and ready to jump in where needed.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Support & Flower Design You'll support in bringing the La Terre aesthetic to life across all sales channels while setting the design tone for the team. Understand and execute the overall flower design in collaboration with the Lead Designer Support design plans for the shop, cooler, online catalog, and events Design daily retail and online orders in alignment with La Terre's style and ensure all processing is efficient to support the demands of the shop Follow recipes for online arrangements to ensure consistency Maintain a well-stocked, seasonally appropriate cooler Wrap bouquets for customers when they come in to purchase flowers Offer guidance to customers as they inquire about different types of flowers Production & Planning You'll assist with coordinating the flower production process from flower sourcing to quality control alongside the Lead Designer. Order flowers from wholesalers and local farms for retail and events Receive, process, and evaluate product quality, reporting issues when necessary Maintain organization and cleanliness of the production area Plan proactively for holidays and peak production periods with the Front of House staff Team Support and Collaboration You'll be one of the main ties between Production and Front of House. You will offer support where needed and ensure the shop is flowing smoothly. Learn and train others on La Terre's design style and expectations Set daily production goals and design assignments in coordination with the Lead Designer Support the cultivation of a focused, inspired work environment rooted in quality and collaboration Be trained on and ready to jump in any position of the shop when needed Vendor Relationships & Administrative Support You'll serve as the secondary point of contact for flower vendors and maintain production-related records. Understand how to communicate regularly with wholesalers, farmers, and suppliers - step in when the Production Manager is unavailable Track order accuracy and handle product claims when needed Track processing - from receiving all the way to customer feedback Assist Front of House with delivery management Organize receipts, invoices, and inventory records Support office tasks and operations related to production flow and scheduling
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
You have at least 3+ years of flower design experience in a retail or event setting You have the ability to comfortably lift 30 pounds without assistance Familiar with (or quick to learn) online platforms.
