Sr. ODM Graphic Designer Bestway USA Inc - 4.4 Chandler, AZ Job Details $70,000 - $85,000 a year 7 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Collaborative technology platforms Microsoft Teams SharePoint Productivity software Full Job Description The Sr. ODM Graphic Designer position, as part of the Product Development team, will lead and collaborate with stakeholders across the department, Sales, and our overseas R D Team. The duties primarily include developing manufacturable 2D graphics and pattern/color options for structural designs to support our ODM/NPD sectors, using methods such as ideation, visualization, concept rendering, preparation of design-for-manufacturing sheets, and prototype analysis and revision. The designer must complete work independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for the following development methods: 2D graphic design research ideation (brainstorming), concept development and refinement, layout and presentation, render proposals, graphic treatment and applications, preparation of design-for-manufacturing sheets (including the layout, detail callouts/drawings, and graphic treatment asset assembly), and prototype analysis and revision Utilize asset development methods in two main company sectors: Original Design Manufacturing (ODM), which focuses on client-based modification requests, and New Product Development (NPD), which focuses on developing new catalog products Collaborate with the product development team—including project managers & coordinators, product design managers, industrial designers, and graphic designers—as well as other departments, such as sales, R D, and marketing teams, to ensure accurate design deliverables Create a design framework that considers cost, material size limits, manufacturing/printing limitations, feasibility, viability, and market-trend desirability for the following categories: Watersports, furniture, toys, AGP, family pools, and related product categories Attend initial concept kick-off meetings with clients and the ODM team to refine design scope, brainstorm solutions, identify manufacturing issues, and request required style guides and supporting materials Support our internal inventor relations program by executing inventor ideas, preparing any necessary assets for review by various stakeholders, and providing research & proposal, and design-for-manufacturing sheets as needed Identify and execute projects that improve the department's design, communication, and execution processes. This includes projects that support interdepartmental processes and methods Work on design projects assigned by a project manager/coordinator or by the supervisor Sustain updated knowledge in relevant software and design-related tools Participate in a multidisciplinary environment, focus groups, or surveys Maintain an organized file system and update all relevant project trackers Provide and receive constructive feedback from all team members Follow directions and execute manufacturable-based solutions, with detail and accuracy Demonstrate eagerness to learn through curiosity, trial & error, teaching others, and sharing the latest trends, methods, and applications relevant to design or analogous fields
Competencies:
Understanding of manufacturing processes/application of graphic treatments and printing processes on 3D structures Ability to use relevant Adobe Creative Suite software/render programs, i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop. Experience in other Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus, including Gemini, KeyShot, or relevant render software Skilled in analog/digital communications, such as sketching and prototyping Ability to adhere to timelines, collaborate with all stakeholders, and communicate effectively by presenting ideas in a visually interesting way that would gain the support of the product development team and other departments
Required Education and Experience:
Associate or bachelor's degree in graphic design or a similar field At least 5 years of experience designing toys, inflatables, or related types of consumer products Proficient in Microsoft Office 365: Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneDrive, and SharePoint on Windows or Mac OS Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software, i.e., Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience in render programs such as Gemini or KeyShot is a plus Experience in designing watersports, outdoor toys (water toys, bouncers, water parks), furniture, or pools products is a plus, as is general knowledge of high-frequency welding or related processes Bestway (USA) Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
