Job Description

The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking a full-time graphic designer to support visual communications across digital, print, and multimedia platforms. GNRC is responsible for convening elected leaders from across Middle Tennessee to coordinate investments in social services, economic and community development programs, and infrastructure projects across the metropolitan region. This role will support agency-wide communication and marketing efforts to support various programs and initiatives. The duties of the graphic designer may include: Creating illustrations, graphics, presentations, reports, infographics, and other materials for print and digital publication; Designing visual assets for social media, web content, and marketing campaigns; Supporting the design and layout of technical reports, planning documents, and public engagement materials; Assisting with project workflow to ensure design projects are completed on schedule; Serving as an in-house photographer to take staff headshots and capture photographs or video at GNRC meetings and events; Photo editing, retouching, color correction, and manipulation of images; Coordinating with print vendors and other external partners involved in production; Supporting website updates and social media content development; Ensuring marketing collateral and program materials align with GNRC brand standards; Collaborating with program staff to translate complex information, data, and planning concepts into clear visual communications; and Other duties or special projects as assigned by the organization's Deputy Director.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience working in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field. A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Strong visual design skills with demonstrated understanding of typography, color, layout, and brand identity. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal team. Must be a team player with a strong eye for design, attention to detail, good organizational skills, great customer service, professionalism, excellent oral and written skills, and eagerness to learn new skills, and prioritize jobs. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with modern design tools including: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) Microsoft Office and advanced presentation design (PowerPoint) Experience with the following is a plus: Video editing or motion graphics (After Effects, Premiere, or similar tools) Web graphics or basic website content management systems Data visualization and infographic design Creating accessible digital documents and materials (WCAG standards) Familiarity with emerging AI-assisted design tools and creative workflows Knowledge of printing process and production file preparation

Travel Expectations:
This position may require travel throughout GNRC's thirteen county region. A valid driver's license is required.
Remote Work Flexibility:
This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Davidson County, TN. Work from home flexibility is provided, when possible, at the discretion of the supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits:
The minimum starting salary is $50,000. The offered salary will depend on experience and qualifications. GNRC offers a fully paid pension through the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System and provides a dollar for dollar match to a 401k up to 3% of gross salary. GNRC also offers Health, Dental, Vision and Disability plans. Inquire for more information about benefits.
