About the
Role:
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Manufacturing Specialist to join our dynamic team at Spartronics! Work Schedule:
4-day/10-hour work week. Shift 1: Monday
  • Thursday, 5:30 AM
  • 4:00 PM. Shift 2: Monday
  • Thursday, 4:00 PM
  • 2:30 AM; plus a shift differential of $1.
50. Overtime may be required.
Responsibilities:
Operate SMT line equipment, including solder paste printer, SPI setup, pick-and-place machines, and reflow oven. Set up, load reels onto feeders, circuit boards, and materials for SMT line operations. Conduct in-process checks using SPI and X-ray equipment to verify solder quality. Visually inspect circuit boards for obvious defects and escalate issues as needed. Perform changeovers, line setup, and adjustments to maintain production flow. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of SMT workstations and tools. Follow detailed work instructions and comply with ESD and safety protocols. Input product-tracking data to ensure accurate, up-to-date records for quality control and inventory management. Contribute to process documentation, training, and ongoing improvements that drive operational success. Perform other duties or support other areas as needed, based on business requirements or production flow. Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. This job requisition may be filled at either Level 1 or Level 2. Requirements Qualifications for Level 1: High School Diploma or GED required. Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow written instructions. Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work standing for extended periods. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements. Qualifications for a Level 2: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2+ years of SMT experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment. Ability to interpret basic technical drawings and process instructions. Familiarity with production documentation and SMT software systems. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements. Proven experience with SMT equipment. Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SMT equipment, including pick-and-place, reflow oven, SPI, and X-ray. Knowledge of
IPC-A-610
workmanship standards. Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities.
Key Metrics and Focus Areas:
SMT setup and build accuracy, timeliness of SMT setup tasks, and quality results. Support for production throughput, line efficiency, and changeover effectiveness. Compliance with work instructions and safety requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Stand or walk for extended periods during line operation. Lift and handle feeder reels and assemblies up to 30 lbs. Manual dexterity for SMT setup and adjustments. Work in ESD-controlled production environments.
Compensation:
This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is based on experience in manufacturing, education, and prior experience in electronics manufacturing.
