Job Description

The Kahlert Applied AI Institute is seeking a creative student Graphic Designer to develop visually compelling designs that communicate AI concepts and stories to diverse audiences. This role is perfect for someone passionate about design, motion graphics, and digital storytelling. You will work closely with a high-performing media team to create content used in videos, courses, and social media, with mentorship from an industry expert. Design graphics for videos, articles, courses, and social media content Create motion graphics, title sequences, and visual elements for video productions Develop engaging layouts and visual assets that simplify and communicate AI concepts Design elements such as credit pages, thumbnails, and promotional materials Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and execute creative concepts Support storytelling efforts by translating ideas into impactful visual designs Provide and incorporate feedback to improve quality and consistency Ensure designs align with institutional branding and strategic messaging Analyze effectiveness of designs and continuously improve visual communication Track project progress and maintain organization within project management tools Must be a currently enrolled UVU student Experience and/or coursework in graphic design or a related field
Preferred:
Portfolio demonstrating professional-level design and/or motion graphics work Strong graphic design skills (layout, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy) Experience with design and motion graphics tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar) Ability to create engaging visuals that simplify complex topics Familiarity with AI tools to enhance creative workflows Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills Self-motivated learner with a drive for continuous improvement
