Job Description

Do you have an eye for design and love using templates and workflows to churn out graphics and assets for use in marketing and promotions? Come join our team of artists and marketers working to support the researchers and scientists advancing light-based technologies. Make a difference by doing important work with a successful, international not-for-profit organization. Full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position available, with flexible work hours.
Description of duties:
Develop and design effective artwork, perform layout and composition, edit and proofread, and produce accurate production/printer files for promotional pieces, in both print and electronic formats. Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Work closely with and in support of Marketing team, focusing on interactive and digital marketing, print, web, and special projects.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, communications, marketing communications, or related field, or equivalent, relevant professional experience. Minimum 2 years experience in publishing, design studio, or prepress operation; desktop publishing experience required. Experience with Apple computers and Adobe Creative Suite software, and basic file management required. College-level science courses desirable. Experience with pre-press separation software desirable.
Compensation and Benefits package include:
Competitive wages, annual discretionary bonus. Pay range depending on experience is $29.53/hr to $44.32/hr. Medical, dental & vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents).
Defined retirement contribution:
SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution
PLUS SPIE
offers UP to 5% matching contributions and 25% vesting each year, 100% vested after 4 years. Paid Time Off plan begins at 31 days per year. Health savings accounts are partially funded by SPIE. Location:
Physical work location in Bellingham, WA. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
