Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Product Design Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. This role partners with overseas ODM vendors to guide fixture designs, solve manufacturing challenges, and ensure scalable, production-ready solutions for global retail environment.

Rate Range:
$80/Hour to $85/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Product Design Engineer IV Job Responsibilities include: Lead the design and development of retail fixtures, furniture, and merchandising solutions for store environments using an ODM development model. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and overseas manufacturing partners to refine designs, meet program objectives, and drive product development from concept through production. Review vendor-generated CAD designs, provide technical guidance, and ensure solutions align with manufacturing requirements, safety standards, and aesthetic goals. Create and evaluate prototypes, mockups, and design iterations using CAD tools, 3D printing, and hands-on engineering problem-solving techniques. Conduct design validation through manufacturing reviews, reliability testing, tolerance analysis, and root cause investigations to support successful mass production. Partner with vendors to develop manufacturing processes, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality, scalable product solutions within project timelines.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline. 7+ years of experience in product design engineering and new product development. Strong CAD expertise with the ability to independently create, review, and iterate designs for physical products. Experience partnering with ODM/manufacturing vendors to drive design solutions, validate manufacturability, and support products through production.
