Engineering/R D US-CA-Irvine-2851 Overview ITT Inc. is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with mid-level development experience in the connector industry to join the ITT Cannon Connectors North America team. Responsibilities General engineering product setup, design and management Engineering BOM creation, documentation creation and updates Design of new components and assemblies Manage and plan multiple activities related to Engineering, Product Management and Operational support for new product development Multi-functional team member representing Product Engineering Testing support and overview within a Product Evaluation Lab Work closely with Field Application Engineering Requires visibility to export controlled documents and informationQualifications Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years' experience in Electro-Mechanical product design, preferably in connectors CREO Parametric 3D Modeling/Documentation experienceASME Y14.5
Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including GD&T Ability to manage multiple tasks Highly self-motivated and a willingness to make a difference Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different departments. Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word etc...Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry. Experience in Filters, Fiber Optics, Micro-miniature and/or High-Speed Data transfer a plus Knowledge in the use of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums and copper alloys and the manufacturing requirements needed to utilize them Knowledge in MIL-DTL, Mil-STD and similar industry specifications and requirements. Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles. The ability to travel periodically (up to 20%) Safety is a core value at ITT.
