Job Summary:
Quicken is seeking a Senior Product Designer with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences and the expertise to bring them to life. As part of our small, dynamic team, you'll tackle a variety of customer challenges for our Mac desktop application, shaping how users engage with and benefit from our product. We're looking for a self-driven designer who is deeply rooted in design thinking, excels at solving complex problems, and communicates ideas with clarity and impact. In this role, you'll take ownership of projects from start to finish and lead efforts from initial ideation to final implementation. You thrive in collaborative environments where open, articulate communication is key, working closely with the product manager, engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to help shape and deliver seamless, intuitive experiences. This role involves close collaboration with teammates, with 2 in-office days per week at our Menlo Park location.   • $83/hour. Upon conversion after four months, this position's expected base pay range is $155,000

To be successful in this role, you will: Design intuitive financial tools and experiences tailored to our desktop customers. Understand users by conducting original research and analyzing feedback, metrics, and industry design trends to inform your decisions. Advocate for user-centered design principles, fostering a culture of excellence across the organization. Use AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and iteration while applying strong design judgment. Express design decisions clearly, articulating trade-offs and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain consistency by aligning brand guidelines with macOS patterns to meet customer expectations. Create and communicate your ideas through process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished mockups. Enhance design systems by contributing to pattern libraries, visual standards, and reusable components. Collaborate effectively with the product manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that align user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Iterate and refine your work through internal reviews and feedback from customers and team members. Balance time effectively, recognizing when to refine designs further and when to deliver solutions efficiently What we ask for: 5+ years of experience in product design with experience working on desktop, web and native applications (preferably within the fintech space). Must have a portfolio showcasing strong interaction and visual design, along with your role in the broader product design process. Experience contributing to or managing design libraries or systems for product teams. Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions, brainstorm ideas, and gather feedback from cross-functional teams. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Figma. Experience conducting and analyzing usability tests. Familiarity with Apple's design guidelines (macOS or iOS). A detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset. Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Passion for personal finance and a desire to create meaningful solutions that positively impact users' financial well-being. We'd love to see: Proficient knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of shipping features that work seamlessly within native Apple applications. Experience designing features that let people find insights in complex information. Proficiency using or building for personal financial management applications. Experience working with hybrid and remote colleagues. Experience using AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate design workflows, improve productivity, and support high-quality outcomes. The actual salary offered is determined by factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to years and depth of experience, relevant skills, and work location. This position's expected base pay range is $155,000
