Pump Responsible Engineer II

Qualifications:
B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related technical subject area 5+ years of experience in complete pump design Professional experience designing several aspects of pumps such as impellers, diffusers, shafts, motors, and bearings in various fluids such as water, LOX, LH2, or LNG Demonstrated ability to oversee a pump development project through early sizing and trade studies, design, analysis, manufacturing, and delivery to customer Good verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities Willingness to work on-site with occasional travelDesired:
Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (ANSYS preferred) 7+ years of experience in pump design across most phases of the product life cycle Experience integrating pumps in space vehicle applications Experience working with high-speed submerged motors Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC)Responsibilities:
As the owner of their cryogenic pump, the Responsible Engineer will lead the development, design, analysis, and testing of cryogenic pumps for Blue Origin lunar vehicles for some of the most advanced space vehicles. The position involves designing, analyzing, building, and testing cryogenic pumps, with key responsibilities including sizing components, performing mechanical design, and conducting structural and fluid analyses. Provide technical leadership to the team by advising on technical approaches and applying your experience to address our most challenging technical problems. Oversee manufacturing, assembly, and manage full hardware ownership throughout the product life cycle. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across motor design, bearings, fluids, thermal structure, manufacturing, and testing. Interface with production to ensure designs translate into affordable products. Manage the pump system life cycle, including definition, interfaces, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. Work with internal and external suppliers, NASA, and National Team partners on lunar transportation and related programs that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.Compensation Range for:
CA applicants is $99,201.00- $138,880.35 CO applicants is $90,934.00
