Job Title:
Product Designer Job Description As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for crafting precise and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software. Your designs will be based on customer specifications or custom quotes from the field. You will also focus on designing new products and continuously improving the design of existing equipment. Your role will involve designing with cost-efficiency in mind and acting as a liaison between fabrication and assembly to resolve any arising issues. Responsibilities Create accurate and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software. Design products based on customer specifications and field quotes. Develop new products and improve designs of existing equipment. Design with cost considerations and resolve issues between fabrication and assembly. Essential Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks and other 3D CAD software. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Drafting or Design, with a preference for Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience, especially in automotive or agricultural vehicles. Experience with sheet metal products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in 2D and 3D skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks combo is ideal). Passion for working on cars, fixing things, and engine repair. Strong communication and presentation skills. Work Environment The position is part of the product development team at a modern aluminum plant with approximately 3,000 employees. The facility is also a manufacturing and assembly site, with a design team of around 70 people including detailers, drafters, designers, project engineers, supervisors, and support staff. The company offers a family-oriented environment with a strong history and low turnover. Onsite dining options are available, and there are local eateries within driving distance. The dress code is outlined in the company's dress code document. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quincy, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $28.84/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
