Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work within a cross-functional team to develop fluidic and mechanical test fixtures
- Develop test plans with design engineering team(s)
- Carryout test plans, generate formal reports and communicate results to design team
- Support detailed engineering analysis of new and existing designs to verify robustness and design intent.
- 3D Model creation and design assembly of test fixtures
- Design of sheet metal, machined and 3D printed parts as well as 3D assemblies
- Produce detailed drawings utilizing GD&T and CAD Infrastructure engineering best practices.
- Ensure laboratories are kept organized and clean to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain equipment and ensure all requiring calibration are current per quality standards
- Participate in design reviews with a cross-functional team.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists and management to achieve project objectives. Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Min 4 years of industry experience in product design, development, testing and/or manufacturing with technical background in mechanical assemblies that are related to fluid and motion control.
- Experience generating LabVIEW code to support test fixture requirements desired
- Must have experience specifying, setting up and running data acquisition systems.
- Must have experience with typical lab instrumentation, such as pressure/force transducers, flow meters, and thermocouples.
- Must have proficiency in NX CAD design software or similar.
- GD&T skills and the ability to perform tolerance stack-ups on complex assemblies a plus.
- Proficiency with
ASME Y14.5
standards a plus.- Experience with additive manufacturing processes and 3D printers a plus
- Strong ability to plan and organize tasks.
- Familiar with Scrum agile system (ADS) a plus
- Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.…)
- Proficiency with MATLAB a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
