Job Description

Develop and design manufactured products according to customer specs. Oversee design projects from inception to completion. Provide input on product design, aesthetics, and functional solutions for products. Responsible for material selection and recommendation, work through debugging issues with new products. Proficiency with Solidworks Professional and Corel Draw design software Ability to work independently High School Diploma or GED Related experience and/or training a plus Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to learn quickly Ability to follow both written and verbal directions Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and innovative environment Experience in using standard machine shop equipment and tools Experience in fabrication of Plastic and Metal parts Intermediate math and measurement skills. Use Solidworks to design Plastic & Metal products Complete customer quote requests o Design parts o Complete drawings o Calculate and report manufacturing costs Convert design files for production o Part breakdown o Manufacturing drawings Work closely with other designers, equipment operators, and fabricators to develop items with manufacturing intent o Consider processes required to produce parts and minimize features, number of parts, etc. when applicable Maintain communication with customers and internal personnel regarding product design, cost, production time requirements, etc. Monitor and track all design updates or changes. Assist with production when needed o Review assembly requirements, hardware, etc. o Complete design revisions o Provide hands-on assistance with part assembly when needed
