A Product Designer is responsible for the design of a new product, or redesign of an existing product. Responsible for the aesthetics of the product but also designing how it will work, defining the problem and solving it. May be responsible for producing low-fidelity mock ups, prototypes for validation through user testing and crafting the final product accordingly.

Job Description
Description Associate Designer Creates and supports the creation of product designs based on concepts established by product development and merchandising groups. Works under direct supervision of Sr Manager Designer with support from Sr PD Director. Takes lead with select project as defined by reporting manager (I.E. Design manager/ Sr Designer) Principle Duties and Responsibilities (approximate percentage of time spent): Monitors, researches, and reports on industry trends for applications to new and existing product designs.- Able to lead and inspire teams with compelling Trend and Innovation stories. ( 10%) Takes lead with resets as directed by Design Manager or Sr Designer. Ability to work manage and deliver with key timeline objectives - Trend and Innovation, Mid Design, Merch Design, and Tech Pack handoff. (10%) Rapid ideation sketching for new and existing products. (30%) Develops, updates and creates technical specifications and other information (e.g., materials, product illustrations, design layouts, specification drawings, and bill of material creation/updates, etc.) on new and existing products. (20%) Prepares materials for meetings (e.g., presentations, product line sheets, technical specifications, garment samples, and print, fabric, sketch and research boards, etc.), arranges meetings and meeting rooms, and takes notes during meetings. (10%) Approve and organize fabric and color submits. (20%) Thinks bigger - looking ahead to future years with a mind to improve brand recognition. Assisting and creating strategies for long term company/brand growth.
Skills:
Displays professional skills with the following - Acts as a leader to help share program skills with fellow designers. Adobe CC (specifically Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, indesign) Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, and experience in Microsoft Excel Computer tracking systems(i.e. Smart Sheet, PLM). Ability to rapidly iterate on ideas using hand sketching, digital sketching, and rapid prototyping. Keen eye for color, trend, detail and construction. Able to multi-task and prioritize based on business objectives.Bonus:
3D design Ability to design using 3D softwareEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Produce design or related discipline and 1 year of experience in product or apparel design & print pattern design equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. 3+ year's experience in product design and development. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.87 - $42.87/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
