Position Overview Bioworld Merchandising is seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer specializing in Travel Goods to join our product development team. This role focuses on designing innovative, functional, and commercially viable travel bags including duffels, backpacks, totes, packing accessories, and other soft-sided luggage solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong aesthetic sensibility with technical expertise in materials, construction, and manufacturing processes. Portfolios and/or examples of relevant design work MUST be included during application process to be considered. Key Responsibilities Design and develop soft travel bags from concept through production, including duffels, backpacks, totes, packing accessories, and travel organizers Create detailed technical sketches, specs, and presentation materials using design software Collaborate closely with product development, sourcing, merchandising, and marketing teams Research trends, materials, trims, and competitive products within travel, fashion, and outdoor markets Ensure designs meet brand positioning, cost targets, functionality, and quality standards Prepare tech packs, colorways, material selections, and construction details for factory communication Review samples, provide fit/construction feedback, and support revisions through production cycles Maintain organized design files and documentation throughout development stages Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Accessories Design, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience designing soft goods, travel bags, luggage, or accessories is a plus Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (required) Strong understanding of materials, bag construction, hardware, and sewing techniques Ability to translate concepts into technical specifications and production-ready designs Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Strong eye for color, trend, functionality, and consumer needs Work in-office 4-days a week & 1-day remote Preferred Qualifications Experience specifically in travel goods, luggage, outdoor, or performance accessories Knowledge of manufacturing processes and overseas factory collaboration Experience with tech pack creation and PLM systems Understanding of sustainability practices and material innovation in soft goods
