Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to support the development of complex mechanical systems including umbilical assemblies, ground testing equipment, launch structures, and transportation/handling tooling. In this role, you will create, modify, and release detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Creo, ensuring compliance with established modeling conventions and configuration control processes. You will define critical interfaces across mechanical, fluid, and electrical systems, including routing hardware, connector pinouts, and load-bearing structures, while collaborating closely with engineering and analysis teams to deliver fit-for-purpose designs. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Creo modeling, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and configuration management workflows within a controlled release environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality, inspection-ready drawings, participating in design reviews, and driving designs through formal engineering change processes from concept to release. Experience with ground support equipment, test fixtures, or handling/lifting tooling is highly valued, along with familiarity in managing large assemblies and ensuring designs meet manufacturing, inspection, and operational requirements.
