Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing/Product Design Engineer with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience to join our growing team at Lumino Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for designing new and innovative products in the Home Decor and Window Treatment industries, as well as assisting our current Project Engineers in designing products for major US retailers. You will be involved in all aspects of product development, from concept generation to production in our international facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and/or assist in the development of complete designs of products, subassemblies, and components from concept to implementation Perform routine maintenance, inspect equipment, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues Diagnose equipment failures and implement solutions Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and ensure operational efficiency safety Collaborate with product development team, suppliers, and overseas manufacturing to develop concepts, resolve design issues, and implement designs into production Identify and select materials needed for production and develop product specifications and Bill of Materials Develop test plans and specifications, and assist in the development of prototypes Utilize 3-D printers, laser engravers, and shop suppliers to develop, perform, and record prototype tests Build, design, and refine prototypes to develop functional products Ensure that the product design is manufacturable, cost-effective, and deliverable on-time and on-specification Prepare part drawings, assembly drawings, and other engineering specifications Write product assembly or installation instructions and assist in part tooling development and manufacturing requirements and processes as needed Monitor the progress of each design project and troubleshoot technical customer service issues Collaborate with warehouse team on mechanical problems and find solutions Willingness to travel and work in our factories for around 15-20 days/year, follow internal controls and company policies, and assist with other projects and tasks including those outside your functional area
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience Proven ability to design and implement products into production Experience with home décor or window treatment products is a plus Strong mechanical design skills and knowledge of industry standard software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with international manufacturing processes and regulatory standards is a plus
