Job Description

Job summary: We are seeking an experienced and talented mid to senior level Interior Designer to join our team. The Designer will implement projects under the direction of the Principal Designer/CEO. The Designer will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design process for interior projects, including conceptualization, space planning, material selection, and project management. This role requires a strong design background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include - but not limited to - the following: Lead and manage the interior design process from concept development to project completion, ensuring high-quality and innovative design solutions in collaboration with the Principal Designer. Communicate with clients to understand their design requirements, preferences, and budget constraints. Conduct site visits and assess existing spaces to gather information and identify design opportunities and challenges. Develop and present design proposals, including mood boards, 3D renderings, and material samples, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients. Create detailed design plans, including space layouts, furniture arrangements, lighting design, and material specifications. Correspond with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance with building codes and regulations. Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. Source and select furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories that align with the design concept, budget, and client's preferences. Oversee the procurement and installation process, including reviewing shop drawings, coordinating with vendors, and conducting site visits during construction to ensure design integrity. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designer(s)/ Design Assistants, supporting their professional growth and development. Stay updated with industry trends, new materials, and emerging design technologies to bring innovative ideas and solutions to projects. Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and industry professionals to expand business opportunities. Participate in Quarterly Projects/Goals Assist the Principal Designer with project execution as needed. Must understand that design is 90% executing and planning the details and 10% of the "fun" stuff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or a related field
  • At least 3 years of related experience in interior design, with a focus on high-end residential or commercial projects
  • Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts to clients
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors
  • Eager to learn and a positive attitude
  • Must have a love for design and a passion to give our clients their dream Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful interior design projects
