Job Description

Position Summary Our client, a leading business aviation aircraft manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Engineering Contractor to support design and development of interior furnishings and amenities for new, custom, and in-service aircraft. This role guides the successful completion of major engineering programs and works with considerable latitude and minimal direct oversight. Responsibilities Design and develop new and derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities, including: Custom cabinetry (galleys, lavatories, vanities, closets, storage compartments) Interior peripheries (cabin liners, window panels, passenger service units, dado panels, side ledges) Miscellaneous systems (water/waste, oxygen, seating) Design and build models and prints reflecting a complete understanding of construction methodologies for component parts and assemblies through to end-item level Design installations for the above commodities along with necessary airframe modifications to meet interior install load requirements; apply Weight and Center of Gravity analysis Understand and apply the product development process from concept through production and sustaining Create drawings/models using

interconnected with SmarTeam Liaise with Operations, Suppliers, Procurement, Quality, and other departments on design and validation issues through prototyping and reliability testing Perform assembly/installation, similarity, mounting, and functionality analysis for each configuration developed Apply design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods to meet manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements Make independent technical decisions and provide recommendations to optimize product, cost, and schedule outcomes Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues Serve as a recognized technical authority, consulted extensively by peers and associates Work without appreciable direction; results reviewed from a long-range perspective Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical curriculum (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 10 years of experience in a specific technical discipline, or 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees (up to 2 years for Master's, 4 years for PhD) Proficiency in CATIA V5 and SmarTeam Experience with Part 25 aircraft; some familiarity with Part 135 requirements Advanced degree in engineering or related field preferred
Pay:
$77.00 - $87.00 per hour
