ZEN Associates, located in Woburn, MA, is looking for an interior designer with 5+ years of experience to join our expanding interior design team. We believe working at ZEN Associates is unique, our interior design team often works hand in hand with our landscape design team incorporating the connection to the landscape. We believe by integrating the essence of nature and its elements as much as possible we create serene and peaceful environments which maximize wellness. The right candidate will bring creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm as you collaborate with the design team. This position will work closely with the Director and have the opportunity to be involved through the life of the project, from the initial design concept, interaction with clients and vendors through the completion of construction. You will be involved with multiple projects at one time and be responsible for project management and the selection of architectural/millwork details to furnishing and finishes selection. We expect candidates to share our design style which is contemporary with clean lines and architectural details based on Japanese design principles. The majority of projects are high-end residential from city penthouses to suburban estates. Our work has been published in Architectural Digest, New England Home Magazine, Boston Home, Home & Design, and Florida Design. Qualified candidates will have a background in interior design and a solid understanding of architectural construction and detail drawings. A solid background in architecture would be an advantage. Strong knowledge of high-end furniture, lighting, and materials a plus. The right person will share our vision and possess the following skills:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in interior design (accredited program).
- 5+ years of work experience in interior design, preferably experience with high-end residential design.
- Excellent Project Management skills
- Proficient producing architectural construction drawings
- Proficient producing millwork detail drawings
- Ability to create 3D renderings
- Comfortable working with and creating hand sketches.
- Excellent design sense, good judgment of colors and space, adaptability, enthusiasm, cheerful, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Experience communicating with clients.
- Experience working with vendors and clients regarding scheduling and budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly competent, presentable, intelligent, team player, and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in programs including AutoCAD, Sketch-Up (with plugins), Photoshop, and InDesign.
