Job Description

Overview We are a busy residential remodeling company in Asheville, seeking an Interior Designer to help with product selection specifically for bathrooms and kitchens. Must be good with dealing with clients. We would like someone who can grow with this position. Recent grads encouraged. Duties Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints, translating these into compelling interior design concepts. Develop detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using software such as SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or Rhinoceros 3D to visualize design ideas effectively. Prepare comprehensive construction documents and drafting drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Bluebeam for accurate communication with contractors and vendors. Select and specify materials, lighting fixtures, color schemes, and finishes based on principles of color theory and interior design best practices. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently while coordinating with contractors during renovation or remodeling phases to ensure seamless execution. Conduct site visits to oversee installation processes, verify compliance with design specifications, and address any on-site issues promptly. Stay current with industry trends in lighting sales, lighting design, construction techniques, and new product offerings to deliver innovative solutions. Experience Proven experience in interior design or related fields with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects including renovations and remodeling. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD; experience with SketchUp, Revit, Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop), and Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid understanding of drafting standards, construction documentation, and contract management processes. Knowledge of lighting sales strategies combined with expertise in lighting design tailored to various environments. Familiarity with project management principles including budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and client communication. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately while maintaining attention to detail. Strong grasp of interior design fundamentals such as color theory, space planning, furniture selection, and material finishes.
