We are looking for a New Home Design Consultant to leads clients through the home design process, translating their vision into functional, well-executed plans while delivering an exceptional client experience. This role coordinates design and drafting efforts related to client selections and collaborates closely with drafters, vendors, and construction teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency from preconstruction through closing. This is a part-time, flexible role — a minimum of approximately 20 hours per week — with scheduling driven by client appointment availability. Compensation is hourly plus commission, rewarding those who are self-motivated and client-focused. Success in this role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to seamless coordination and homeowner satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads homebuyer design consultations and communications Maintains vendor relationships, documentation, and build execution handoffs Drives participation in design studio presentation and model home staging Updates and processes paperwork for selections and pricing addendums Shares plan structural knowledge with clients Approves appropriate design requests including sourcing, pricing, and construction Exercises discretion and independent judgement with regards to design requests before implementation Delegates tasks to Design & Sales Operations Coordinator throughout each meeting and build timeline Navigates the design studio and samples with clients Executes electrical walkthroughs and finalizes electrical requests Works directly with internal drafting and operations teams on managing each project ensuring information is gathered and in place to keep construction process on schedule and correctly communicated Works directly with construction managers to ensure proper implementation of design and/or products Improves awareness of design trends, products, and materials Delivers customer experience and satisfaction
Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in construction management, design, or related field preferred (3) years minimum experience in residential design Exemplary ability to understand construction timeline Exceptional project management skills Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask between projects and client needs Effective problem-solving and organizational skills Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Driven to complete tasks quickly Excellent attention to detail Dependable, proactive, and self-motivated Exceptional customer service mindset
Work Environment:
Part-time, flexible schedule — averaging 20 hours per week Availability required Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm to accommodate client appointments In-office and on-site as needed based on project and client needs Hourly pay plus commission compensation structure Prolonged periods at a computer and desk work Must be able to lift/push/pull up to (20) pounds Requires travel to job sites
