Job Description
Sierra Verde Group is seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to provide direct support to our Interior Designers and their residential design projects. This is a hands-on, entry-level position ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and excited to learn the interior design industry. The Assistant will work closely with the Designers, providing administrative, purchasing, sourcing, specification, and organizational support while helping keep projects running smoothly. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the Designers
- Create purchase orders and assist with product ordering
- Help monitor items specified and ordered for client projects, including confirmations, lead times, backorders, and delivery updates
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, samples, specifications, and order details
- Create and maintain project specification books and organized project files
- Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, accessories, artwork, and materials
- Request and organize samples, pricing, tear sheets, and product information
- Prepare samples and materials for client meetings and presentations
- Maintain and organize the showroom's fabric, finish, flooring, tile, hardware, and material sample libraries
- Assist with showroom organization, merchandising, and accessories
- Assist clients and vendors in the showroom and answer incoming phone calls as needed
- Receive and organize samples, packages, and showroom deliveries
- Assist with preparations for client meetings and installations
- Coordinate sample returns and vendor pickups
- Run occasional project-related errands and sample/material pickups
- Assist with additional project, showroom, and administrative needs as they arise Qualifications
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Dependable, proactive, and willing to take initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Professional and friendly when interacting with clients and vendors
- Comfortable working independently and closely alongside a Designer
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software
- Genuine interest in interior design, furniture, textiles, + home furnishings Interior design education, coursework, or related experience is a plus, but not required About the Role This position offers hands-on exposure to the residential interior design process while working directly alongside the Interior Designers on active projects.
