Job Description

Kahn Architecture is a mid-sized, interiors-focused architecture firm and in search of a Designer with 3-6 years' experience in commercial office design. The Designer candidate will work directly with the design team on the firm's corporate accounts. Successful candidates must have strong skills in space planning and design development, including the ability to create diverse design concepts and coordinate with the design team on furniture, finishes, and material selection for a variety of client types. This role serves as an integral team member and is responsible for all design aspects of projects - programming, planning, and coordination with the architectural team - to deliver the highest-quality work that meets our clients' expectations. It is important that candidates maintain excellent client and vendor relationships, have clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and efficiently. Our firm is seeking someone who: Participates in programming and pre-planning design analysis. Possesses a strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems, and specifications. Is capable and has a creative approach to the use of colors and materials, with outstanding graphic presentation skills. Understands budgets, schedules, and fees for a project. Has the proven ability to manage under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, and 3D rendering skills (i.e., SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino, etc.)
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of design experience with at least 1 year in corporate interior design and/or retail design for NYC-based projects. Project experience in all phases of design. A professional degree in architecture or interior design. Highly organized with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. New York/Tri-State area resident preferred. Be a U.S. citizen, or already possess a work visa for working in the U.S. At Kahn Architecture , we seek dedicated professionals to be part of a very dynamic team.
