Job Description

Emerald Studio is a residential interior design and construction studio specializing in thoughtful renovations and collected, character-rich homes. We believe the best spaces tell the story of the people who live in them, and we're looking for a Design Assistant who is excited to grow alongside a small, collaborative team. This is a part-time hybrid position . While much of the work can be completed remotely, applicants must be local to the Philadelphia area and available for client meetings, installations, photoshoots, showroom visits, and other project needs. What You'll Do No two days are the same.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting the Principal Designer with day-to-day project tasks Product sourcing, pricing, and vendor communication Creating mood boards, design presentations, and material palettes SketchUp modeling and basic design drawings (experience preferred) Ordering samples and tracking project materials Scheduling appointments and coordinating project logistics Organizing project information and maintaining digital files Assisting with client installations, styling, and photoshoots Running occasional local errands to vendors, showrooms, or job sites Providing general administrative support to keep projects moving smoothly What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, resourceful, and genuinely excited about interior design.
The ideal candidate:
Has a strong interest in residential interior design (professional experience is strongly preferred but not required) Has experience with SketchUp or is eager to learn Has an eye for design, color, scale, and composition Is highly organized with excellent attention to detail Takes ownership of delegated tasks and follows them through to completion Is comfortable problem-solving independently before asking for direction Communicates clearly and enjoys collaborating closely with the Principal Designer Is adaptable and enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Is comfortable with both creative work and hands-on physical tasks, including lifting, styling, and assisting during installations Is proficient with Google Workspace; experience with Canva is a plus Has reliable transportation This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring interior designers to gain practical experience while contributing to exciting projects in a collaborative environment.
Pay:
$15.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
