Job Description
Interior Designer - FF&E / Purchasing (Charlottesville, VA) We are seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented Interior Designer with a strong background in FF&E and purchasing to join our team in Charlottesville. This role sits at the intersection of design and execution. While you will contribute to the conceptual direction of projects, the core of your responsibility lies in translating design intent into fully resolved, buildable, and purchasable packages. We are looking for someone who understands that great design is ultimately realized through precision, documentation, and execution. The right candidate brings both a creative sensibility and a highly structured, methodical approach—someone who can think conceptually, but thrives in the depth and rigor of delivering a project. This position offers a hybrid work structure: three days working remotely and two days in close coordination with the Principal. Responsibilities Contribute to conceptual design development alongside the team Develop comprehensive FF&E packages, including detailed specifications and schedules Lead sourcing efforts and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers Oversee purchasing processes from pricing through delivery and installation Track budgets, timelines, and procurement status with accuracy and discipline Review shop drawings, samples, and submittals with a critical and informed eye Coordinate closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors Ensure design intent is executed at the highest level throughout the project lifecycle Qualifications Proven experience in FF&E, procurement, and purchasing Strong design sensibility with the ability to contribute to concept development Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Clear communication and strong follow-through A well-developed resource library and deep familiarity with hospitality vendors and suppliers Hospitality experience is strongly preferred This role is based in Charlottesville, Virginia—set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, vineyards, and a deeply rooted culture of craft and quality of life. It offers the opportunity to work on high-level, design-driven projects while living in an environment that supports both focus and balance. We are looking for someone who can move fluidly between creative thinking and technical execution—bringing ideas to life with clarity, rigor, and precision, while enjoying a lifestyle that allows space to think, create, and live well.
